2014 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid Debut


2014 Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid is finally making it to the market. The car is considered ground breaking and it was sold as “Pure Limited” before. Besides available in many different colors and having a full list of specifications, the V60 plug-in hybrid embodies everything that is good in Volvo’s V60. The Power of 2014 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid

The 2014 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid has a D6 type of engine with all wheel drive. It operates the front wheels with a 2.4 liter turbodiesel five-cylinder engine that will produce 215 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque with six-speed automatic transmission. The rear wheels are powered by an electric motor with 11.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that produces 70 horsepower with 20 Nm of torque. With such engines under its hood, it is of little surprise that the fuel consumption is one of the lowest with more than 48 g/km emission rate.

There are three driving modes of 2014 Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid that could be set up according to your needs. The first one is Pure mode. This mode relies purely on the car’s electric motor. The V60 plug-in hybrid could reach 50 km using this mode. Hybrid mode comes as the default choice in the car, coordinating both the electric and the diesel engines to achieve 1.8 liter/100km fuel consumption rate and 48 g/km emission level. Power mode of driving focuses on the optimization of the car’s power from both the diesel and electric engines. This mode will result in 285 horsepower with 600 Nm torque and it makes the car able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds.
