Why are the diesel engines not avaiallble in the US market? The current engines are either underpowered or too expensive and deliver low mileage. And I understand only those engines will be available in the US. My neighbor in Washington DC is an Italian diplomat he was able to bring his XC 60 here with a diesel engine. It gets great mileage.

If Volvo fials to provide diesels I will but either a BMW 3 wagon or an Audi Allroad both of which will be available with diesels in 2014. Or a used MB diesel SW.

Why compel me and others like me to go German?
